Home Gym Setup in Qatar: A Step-by-Step Budget Guide
Share
You don't need a big room or a big budget to train at home in Qatar. Most of us train indoors for much of the year, so a small, well-chosen setup in a spare room, majlis corner or balcony with AC goes a long way. Here is how to build one in three steps, from about 150 QR up.
Step 1: The starter kit (about 150–300 QR)
Start with gear that covers cardio, strength and stretching and packs away in a cupboard:
- Adjustable dumbbells: one set replaces a full rack. The 10 kg adjustable dumbbell set is a good first buy.
- Jump rope: the cheapest cardio there is. See our jump ropes.
- Resistance bands and a mat: for warm-ups, mobility and core work. Browse yoga & Pilates.
Step 2: Add a bench and heavier weights (about 300–800 QR)
Once you train 3+ times a week, a bench unlocks presses, rows and step-ups. Look for a foldable, adjustable bench if space is tight, such as the foldable adjustable workout bench. Pair it with kettlebells or a dumbbell set as you get stronger.
Step 3: Cardio machine or multi-gym (1,000 QR+)
If you want steady cardio without going outside in the heat, a walking treadmill or an exercise bike is the next step. For all-in-one strength training, see our multi-gyms.
Quick tips before you buy
- Measure your space: leave at least 1 metre around benches and machines.
- Protect the floor: use a mat under weights and machines, especially on tiles.
- Check max user weight on benches and machines before ordering.
- Buy in stages: start small, train consistently, then add what you miss.
